Activities abound at the St. Thomas More Catholic Newman Center situated here on the campus of the University of Arizona.  While students and faculty welcomed their Spring Break experience, they are now engrossed in the last two months of classes for this academic year.  Having entered the season of Lent, students are doing their best to balance attendance at Masses and additional prayer gatherings with their on-going studies.  

The staff at Newman eagerly prepared for the March 27 anniversary celebration of:
Father Thomas DeMan, O.P.  –  60 years ordained (Western Province)
Sister Mary Virginia Leach, O.P.  –  50 years professed (MSJ)
Sister Elizabeth O’Donnell, O.P.  –  40 years professed (MSJ)  

Highlights of the event included Mass at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon on the Newman front lawn under a white tent situated beneath our Arizona sun.  Around 200 quests joined in celebrating our special honorees who have served our students and the many local Tucsonan parishioners with love and fidelity.  May God’s blessings continue to enrich the lives of our three Jubilarians for many years to come!
