In light of the upcoming Ordinary Synod in Rome, For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation and Mission, Father John Hurley, C.S.P. will address this topic and why it is important for all of us, "Pope, bishops, priests, religious and laity, to place ourselves on the same path as the Word made flesh" (Pope Francis, October 10, 2021, Opening of the Synodal Path.)  He will also share experiences of two truly synodal experiences in the Diocese of San Diego when he coordinated the Synod on Embracing the Joy of Love in 2016 and the Synod on Christ Lives in 2019.

For a truly Synodal Church to be successful

Participants must truly be in communion with one another and the church

The Faithful must be integral key players

Mission must be a driving force

Each participant must truly be open to the Holy Spirit
