To be a Dominican Sister of Mission San Jose is to take seriously a life-long commitment to truth through personal and collaborative study. Study is an essential component of our Dominican life. It informs our ministry, enriches our common life, and overflows into our prayer and action.
Integral to our Dominican way of Life, study roots our prayer, community life and ministry in truth. Dominic called his followers to the joy and asceticism of ongoing study.
Rooted in truth, charity and humility, study transforms us so that we become persons of integrity, giving authentic witness to the Word of God.
We study Sacred Scripture to know Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life. We study the teachings of the Church in order to be in dialogue with the world and the Church.
We study various disciplines to discover and reverence the wonders of God’s creation and revelation. We study world events and contemporary issues to collaborate with our sisters and brothers in the pursuit of justice.
