To be a Dominican Sister of Mission San Jose is to be a woman rooted in the Word of God and shaped by the liturgical life of the Church.  We are grateful to have the Liturgy of the Eucharist celebrated in all of our convent chapels.

Our liturgical prayer is the heart and center of our life and frames our day in a rhythm of praise that gathers us, lifts up our hearts, and energizes us for service. Our strong commitment to the Church's liturgical prayer is the legacy of our Mother Pia.

We commit ourselves to contemplative prayer that the Word of God might shape us ever more radically as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Bell Tones

The bell tones to the left were composed by Sister Marie Yvonne Armstrong for the 85th anniversary of our presence at Altenhohenau, Germany and played by Sister Judith Reagan, Sister Andre Marie Fujier, Sister Jean Matthew Smith, Sister Dulce Sarai Aguilar Rodriguez, Sister Mary-Han Nguyen and Sister Mary Yun.

Sister Eva Beehner, principal of the Queen of the Holy Rosary School of Music, gives organ lessons to Sister Mary Yun, a second year Novice.  Joy, energy, and beauty characterize our common prayer together and liturgical music is a vital part of our life as women of the Church.
