DOMINICAN PREACHING FOR LENT
As members
of the Order of Preachers, the Dominican Sisters share the privileged mandate
to preach Jesus Christ throughout the world. As women of the Gospel
empowered by the Spirit, we participate in the redemptive and prophetic mission
of Jesus. Individually and communally, we live and proclaim his transforming
message of compassion and truth, justice and love.
The saving
Word of God emerges out of an experience of God received in contemplation of
the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are called to
share the fruits of our contemplation in word and action beginning with our way
of living in our community.
For
Dominicans the community is itself the preaching insofar as it is a
foreshadowing of the reign of God. Each Dominican Sister strives to develop her
gifts for preaching in order to better serve God and her neighbor.
